Profile

Ben is a principal in Somerset’s Assurance Team and also the Manufacturing & Distribution Team. In his role within the Assurance Team, he is responsible for providing direction and support to ensure all assurance engagements meet professional standards and are in compliance with the firm’s quality control elements. Ben oversees assurance engagements (audit, review and compilation) in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, employee benefit plans, finance companies, service businesses and non-profit organizations. In addition to assurance services, Ben provides specialized consulting services in the manufacturing and distribution industry consisting of manufacturing cost analysis, materials management, business process improvement, transaction structuring and strategic planning.

Education

Ben received a B.S. degree in accounting from Ball State University.

• Member of the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) and immediate past-Chairman of the Board and past member of the Peer Review and Finance Committees
• Member of INCPAS the Leadership Cabinet
• Member of the American Institute of CPAs, was actively involved as an elected member of the organization’s governing council from 2006 to 2009
• Named to CPA Magazine's "Top 100 Most Influential CPAs" list for his service and dedication to helping others succeed in the profession in 2005
• Recognized as an Employee Benefits Super CPA by the Indiana CPA Society in 2008
• Assistant Treasurer on the Executive Committee for the Crossroads of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America and member of the Finance Committee
• Involved in the Carmel/Westfield community and serves as a Boy Scout leader in Troop 152
